Ramadan 2027: expected dates and a free preparation checklist
Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, depending on the moon sighting.
These are expected dates based on the Umm al-Qura calendar and published astronomical calculations. Your community may begin or end Ramadan a day earlier or later. Please follow your local mosque or moon-sighting committee.

Nights in the Islamic calendar begin at sunset, so the 21st night falls on the evening before the 21st day of fasting.

Worship
- Make up any fasts you still owe
- Choose a daily Quran amount (a standard 604-page mushaf works out at about 20 pages a day to finish in 30 days)
- Write a short list of du’a you want to make
- Find your local timetable for suhoor and iftar

- Plan simple suhoor and iftar meals for the first week
- Stock up on store-cupboard basics
- Agree who does what at home during the month
- Plan any iftars you want to host
Work and time
- Look at your work calendar for the month and move what you can
- Plan quieter evenings in the last ten nights
- Set aside time for Eid shopping early, before the last week

- Decide on your sadaqah plan
- Find out the zakat al-fitr amount and how your mosque collects it
